  • What’s the difference between the original AeroPress and the AeroPress Go?
The AeroPress Go comes with its own 15oz mug with lid, which has been designed so that the Go and all of its accessories fit inside the mug for travelling. The AeroPress Go has a slightly smaller capacity than the original AeroPress.
  • How do I clean my AeroPress?
After each use simply rinse your AeroPress or AeroPress Go with warm water and allow to dry. You can also put your AeroPress in the top shelf of the dishwasher, but a simple rinse is sufficient because the plunger wipes the chamber. If your chamber ever gets sticky, wash it with vinegar. We recommend occasionally removing the seal from the end of the plunger for a good washing inside and out with warm water and dish soap. The AeroPress Go mug and lid can both be washed in warm, soapy water.
  • What grind size do I use for the AeroPress?
There is no simple answer to this question, as multiple different factors will always affect the end result. These include, but are not limited to the grinder you use, the type of beans you're grinding and the age of the beans. You could try using coffee that has been ground as fine drip or espresso grind. Espresso grind takes longer to press and requires skill and patience for multiple scoops but makes a richer brew more quickly due to more particle surface area. You can use pre-ground drip coffee but you may want to use slightly more coffee or let it steep for a little longer to reach the same strength it would reach using a finer grind. Alternatively, here's a helpful Cheat Sheet instead. You can download it for future reference.
  • How many filter papers come with the AeroPress?
The AeroPress Original, AeroPress Go and AeroPress XL each come with a pack of 100 filters. The AeroPress Clear only comes with 50 filters. You don’t want to get caught out with no filter papers, so when you’re running low grab yourself a replacement pack (350 filters) from one of our many stockists. Alternatively, switch to the Reusable Stainless Steel Filter and never run out again.
  • Can I buy replacement parts for the AeroPress?
All components for the AeroPress can be replaced, and many of our stockist carry the AeroPress spare parts on hand. The components are available to all of our stockists, so if they don’t happen to have them on hand simply ask them if they can order the part or parts in for you.
  • How much coffee does the scoop hold?
A level scoop holds 11.5 grams of coffee or about 2.5 tablespoons. A heaped or rounded scoop of coffee holds 14 grams or 3 tablespoons.
  • How do I store my AeroPress?
Always eject the used coffee right after brewing and store your AeroPress with the silicone seal pushed all the way through the chamber. This keeps the seal free of compression for longer seal life. When storing your AeroPress, always ensure it is completely dry.
  • How much liquid does the AeroPress Go mug hold?
The mug holds 15 oz. or 444 ml.
  • What is the AeroPress made out of?
The AeroPress is made from Polypropylene, which is free from phthalates and also BPA free. The AeroPress seal is made from food grade silicone. For more information head to the Evolution of AeroPress page.
  • Do AeroPress seals wear down over time?
The seal does eventually wear down over time. To maximise seal life, always eject the used coffee right after brewing and store your AeroPress coffee maker with the seal pushed all the way through the chamber. This keeps the seal free of compression for longer seal life. There is no adhesive on the seal, so you can easily remove it and then replace it on the AeroPress plunger. You can purchase replacement seals from authorised retailers.
  • My AeroPress Seal is sticky, what do I do?
The AeroPress seal can be cleaned using hot water and dish soap. We advise you to occasionally remove the seal from the plunger and wash it inside and out with hot, soapy water to prevent the accumulation of coffee oils. Use a paper towel to provide a little abrasiveness.
  • My AeroPress Seal no longer forms a tight seal with the chamber. What do I do?
Buy a new seal. The seal can easily be replaced on the end of the plunger. With care, a new seal should last around three years or even longer. For a quick, short-term fix: First place the rubber end of the plunger in some hot water for a couple minutes. Then press the rubber end of the plunger onto a flat surface such as a cutting board. While pressing roll the seal around on its edge so that you are pressing the edge out, widening the circumference of the seal.
  • What is the warranty on AeroPress products?
All AeroPress products carry a 12month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty period is one year from the date of purchase, from an authorised retailer. If you think you purchased a defective AeroPress product that is under warranty, please contact the store you purchased it from and report the problem.
